i don't now why but i love this drink sooo much. ever since i got a taste of this, i have been hooked, addicted and totally obsessed. me and my friends drink this every time we have a special celebration. and i haven't tasted this for a while now..

i wonder, when will be the next time???

Day 37 - A picture taken at school

this picture was taken in 2003. i was senior in high school and we were just practicing for our graduation. with me here is my dear friend "mommy" etchel matematico. she is my adoptive mom back then because she always had delicious packed lunch and i would mosey around her until she finally gives me some. and then she decided to just go ahead and bring some extra just for me.. amishoo mommmy etchel !!!



Day 36 - A picture of your pet

this is my pet sparksky. i know i've posted this picture here before but every time i see this, i smile and think of sparksky. she's still alive and kicking. she's also spawned innumerable babies (i don't know if i lost count or i just stopped caring after a while) and she is now 6 human years old. she looks different now, of course, but this is just the cutest photo of a cat that i have ever seen.



Day 35 - A picture of your hometown

for security purposes, i will not name my hometown. but this is our church. one of the most beautiful churches in the entire philippine archipelago. it has been featured in broadsheets and i recently saw a picture of it in a marian exhibit in tiendesitas. we have been so blessed to have such a beautiful church.

northpark. not my absolute fave but one of them. i love the food, the service and the ambiance of the place. i also love the sweet tea.

good food, affordable prices, comfy place. what more can a food enthusiast ask for?

Day 33 - A picture of somewhere you went today

tuesday, may 31, 2011. i went to the rockwell business center in ortigas (near medical city) for a client interview with a call center there. i got hired that same day (*,*) and i start work on monday. good timing and i had a lot of good luck that day so i was pretty happy.

i'm not dressed up. but i am a celebrity in my own right. hahaha

'nuff said.



Day 31 - A picture of food you made

do you know that filipino dish that is known the world over? yup, you're right. it's chicken adobo (personally, i prefer pork. i'm carnivorous). well, this is adobo rice with scrambled egg.

how to make adobo rice? first, you cook adobo. then you remove it from the pan and without washing the pan, you use it to fry rice. so all the flavors of the adobo will be transferred to the rice. yum !!!




Day 30 - A picture of your favorite quote

"you will know you made the right decision when you picked the harder choice but your heart is at peace"

do i still have to explain?

well, there are decisions that are really hard to make (quitting jobs, stop schooling, name of your cats, etc.) but you will know that you're right when you don't have that heavy feeling afterwards.

Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile

this photo was taken december of 2007. this was the convergys ortigas "autumn in new york" christmas party. i always smile when i think of my cvg friends and how childish and fun my whole 2 years with them was.

this is a perfect example of how much fun we had. tricia and i were just acting foolish in the lobby of the hotel (crowne plaza, ortigas) when we saw this big stone ball and decided to take a picture with it. that night was so much fun.. *big smile*



Day 28 - A picture of your favorite place in the world

my fave place in the entire world is our sofa. this is where i sit / slouch / lie down / sleep. this is my place in our house. this is where you can find me watching tv, reading a book, texting or just pondering the ways of the world. i love this spot. it's my spot.



Day 27 - A picture of your favorite night

this is not my number 1 night but one of the best nights of my life so far.

this was taken in matabungkay beach in batangas. this was our very first beach outing (me and my best friends from home). we had tons of fun. we played street poker, had a few drinks, played truth or dare and had long (very long) conversations by the beach. the night was made more memorable because i spent it with some of the best people i know. =)



Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you

the myriad of letters i received and "teddy".

the letters mean a lot to me for very obvious reasons. i love getting mail. the written kind. and most of these letters date back to my high school days. whenever i feel down and i need a little pick-me-up, i just open my can of letters and then i start reading them. by the end of 1 letter, i'll definitely be smiling.

"teddy" means a lot to me because it is the very first "romantic" gift i have ever received. it was such a surprise when i got him because i just saw him in the store, told my partner "that's teddy from mr.bean, he's cute" and then i went to the bathroom, when i came back, teddy was there. teddy's been with me ever since. he chose to stay with me when the divorce was finalized. good teddy.

this is a picture of me taken April 2010 at matabungkay beach resort in batangas, philippines.

had so much fun with my dear, dear friends. and when i say dear, i mean, really close... like thisclose. some of them go way back to first grade and the relatively "newer" ones are the ones i met in sophomore high... so that's like a whole lifetime of friendship. thanks guys !!!

my former colleagues at work.

i worked alongside them for 2 years and there was never a dull day. i love this bunch of misfits and if ever given a chance, i'd chose to work with them again.

i miss you guys. i haven't seen almost all of you for like 3 years. we really need a reunion.

and you guys are still the best team i've ever worked with. go perpektos !!!

day 18 of the challenge

Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity

my biggest insecurity in life is my height. i am not that short although a measly 5 ft 6 inches is not that tall eaither.

my other friends are like 5'8" or so.. i may not be the smallest but i'm one of the smaller ones.. which i hate (T_T)

also seen here is my number 2 insecurity, i have no butt. it's flat.

Day 10 - A picture of someone you do the craziest things with

my cousins and various friends...

these are the people that i do the craziest things with. from drinking all night 'til the wee hours of the morning (sometimes even longer), going somewhere without even the slightest plan, away - awayan (mock fighting), iyak - iyakan (crocodile tears !) to many unspeakable more.

as promised, here are the pics of recent events in my life... sorry it took me so long to post these pics... i was busy....


i subscribed to the belief that "by doing nothing, you will achieve something".

so i'm waiting to achieve something... that's why i'm doing nothing...

methinks this is a great belief... anyway, enough talk, let's see some pictures!!!

alright... first up, the "idol" that me and my friends have devoted our time and attention to the last 2 years, called "la penitente : si Hesus at ang babaeng makasalanan" (in english, "Jesus and the penitent woman)






nice, right? did anybody notice the hair? it's beautiful, noh? =D

next up is our pictures from our yearly stations of the cross in mt. calvary @ 6 AM, good friday.

methinks i made a mistake and zoomed in on this picture which made it look like this. i apologize.

i will do everything in my power to make this right... as soon as i find out what exactly went wrong.

i know, i know, i also wanted to post most of the pictures i got but i have to protect my friends' privacy. so i'm still sorting through the throng of pictures. we have a thousand pictures on the beach outing alone. and that took, what, 1 day. can you imagine how many pictures we had?

now that i have a moment to breathe...

wow... how's everybody doing?

i have just been very busy since the last time i've checked in.

there was the whole holy week fiasco and the summer outing (our first barkada beach outing, yay!) na finally natuloy na rin sa wakas... after 5 years of attempting.

here's a bullet list of what i did:

holy monday.
pabasa sa mga ninang ko (who lives just next door).

***FYI, for those who don't know what a "pabasa" is, here's a short description.

PABASA (pah-ba-sa) loosely translated in english is "public reading". there is a book called PASYON (passion) written in lyric poetry style. so older people (and some young ones who know the tune) read/sing the whole book. this usually takes the whole day, maximum 20 hours, non - stop. the hosts/hostesses are expected to provide food, coffee, cigarette and everything else that the people need. there are santos (catholic idols depicting saints and sometimes scenes from the bible) presented in the make-shift altar that the "mambabasa" (readers) read to.

i wasn't as involved in this pabasa as i used to because of the whole bickering thing i had with my ninang (godmother). but i did donate some of my time to it.

holy tuesday.
pahinga. siesta. day of relaxation.

holy wednesday.
i was supposed to help my friends lavinia and ermingard in preparing the santo (la penitente: si jesus at ang babaeng makasalanan, in english, jesus and the sinful woman).

***FYI. the "babaeng makasalanan" or the sinful woman (i think it's supposed to be the pious woman, but, anyway...) was not named in the bible. i first thought it was mary magdalene, it turns out i was wrong.

i woke up late that day so i just joined the procession that night and stayed up all night. first we went to bettina's house after more than a year because she just got home here in the philippines from the kingdom of saudi arabia where she works as a nurse. then we (me, ermingard, lavinia and ermingard's "friend") went back to the park, where all the idols were situated and were being prepared for the pabasang bayan the next day.

maundy thursday.
went to pabasang bayan at the public park and then to bettina's.

good friday.
6 AM we went hiking for our annual stations of the cross in mt. calvary here in our hometown. also dubbed as "to strengthen the friendship" MIA: ermingard and lota.

6 PM. procession. then went to helena's for a quick bite then to gertrude's to watch the rest of the procession including the "gewang-gewang".

then after a week of preparation, april 10 and 11, we went to matabungkay beach resort in batangas. only lota wasn't able to come. she had other appointments that apparently, she can't reschedule. no hard feelings.

we went swimming, drinking, boating, snorkeling and generally just having fun.
